Texas Warriors Scholarship Guidelines
- The Texas Warriors Hockey Association anticipates awarding a total of up to $15,000 in scholarships for the 2026-26 season. We anticipate that scholarships will be awarded to qualifying families in the amount of $2,000.00 each. However, depending on the number of qualifying applicants and their financial need, we may pick a natural break based on the applicants’ financial situation to determine the amount of each individual award, i.e. if two or three families are significantly under the income level of other families, a larger scholarship amount may be awarded to those families than amounts awarded families with higher levels of income. The Warriors also reserve the right to reduce either the total amount of scholarships awarded, or the amount of the individual scholarship awarded to any family based on the number of qualified applicants.
- The scholarships will be awarded purely on the financial status of the applicants; those families most in need will be selected for the scholarships. All scholarship awards are at the sole discretion of the Texas Warriors and any or all scholarships may be denied or disallowed in their entirety for any reason as determined by the Texas Warriors.
- Scholarships will be awarded on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis. Any applicant with a combined adjusted gross income (typically shown on the bottom line of page one of IRS Form 1040) of $120,000.00 or more is not eligible for any scholarships.
- To be considered for a scholarship, all applicants must submit a fully completed application, and ALL information requested in the application to be considered for an award. Any missing information is grounds for dismissal of a scholarship application. All financial information will be kept confidential and will be shredded after the scholarships are awarded.
- All completed applications and information must be submitted to the Texas Warriors, by mail or express or hand delivery, to Texas Warriors Scholarships, 15851 Dallas Parkway, Suite 525, Addison, Texas, 75001, and received on or before July 15, 2025. Please do not email applications or financial information due to internet privacy concerns.
- All scholarships will be awarded no later than August 1, 2025. All recipients will be notified confidentially by email. The scholarship awards will be applied to the last payment of the player’s account. Player’s account must be in good standing, i.e. paid in full for all payments owed at the time, for the scholarship to be applied.
- The player must be in good standing and not subject to any disciplinary proceedings by the Texas Warriors or any league or tournament in which the player participates at the time the scholarship monies are to be applied to the player’s account.
- In the event that a player leaves the Texas Warriors during the season that a scholarship has been awarded, the scholarship is automatically revoked. If the scholarship has already been paid, the player and his family must refund 100% of the scholarship award back to the Texas Warriors. Failure to refund any awarded scholarship will result in the player being placed on the THL/TAHA outstanding debt list.
- By submitting a scholarship application, the player and his family agree to each of the conditions set forth above. Any false information submitted to the Texas Warriors will be referred to legal authorities and any scholarship awarded will be immediately revoked.
- To be considered for a Texas Warriors scholarship, the applicant must submit each of the following documents:
- Personal Data (as outlined below)
- Employment and Financial Data (requested in application form)
- Federal Income Tax Returns for 2023 and 2024 tax years
- Pay stubs for the past three months
